Whalesharks

The memory of swimming alongside whale sharks remains etched in my mind, a moment of profound connection with the natural world. This painting is an attempt to translate that experience onto a ceramic canvas, to evoke the sense of awe and tranquility that washed over me.

The two whalesharks, rendered in subtle detail, seem to float in a sea of quietude, inviting the viewer to share in the meditative stillness of the moment. Above them, a sun and a moon, painted in delicate hues, symbolise the cyclical nature of life, the eternal dance of light and dark, day and night, mirroring the whalesharks' own timeless journey through the ocean depths.
