A Fawn like Gai Wan

This Gai wan is a personal exploration of form and texture. During my studies, I became fascinated by the subtle beauty of chatter marks and the way they can add depth to a piece.

Here, I've hand-formed this Gai wan from iron stoneware, carefully applying chatter marks to evoke the delicate dappled pattern of a fawn’s skin – a touch of whimsy amidst the tranquility of the tea ceremony.

The warm Shino glaze further enhances the tactile experience, inviting you to connect with the piece on a sensory level.

The well-fitting lid ensures optimal brewing, allowing the tea's aroma to fully unfold.

This Gai wan is more than just a vessel; it's a reflection of my artistic journey and a celebration of the quiet moments shared over tea.
